It's just that our school is super huge (~60,000 people) so it looks smaller in comparison to the sheer size of our student body. Sororities have events just about every week and there's a frat party just about every other week.

At A&M all the houses are 100% owned by the sorority. The land is not good that the houses are on, and most of the houses have, had, or will have foundation issues. Alabama is also the largest Greek system in the country and their old houses were already on campus. Extremely different situation than we have here. Check out the Beta Theya Pi chspter, they have a good academic reputation, are involved with the A&M community, participate in all aspects off A&M life; and they are known for holding nice social events.
